Please note that it will take at least three months to process all the licensing and immigration paperwork.
After the letter from the BC College of Physicians & Surgeons is obtained, a letter is sent to Employment and Immigration requesting approval of immigration status.
This letter is prepared by the Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant Program and is accompanied by your CV, letters of reference, letter of offer, letter of approval from the BC College of Physicians & Surgeons.
Immigration Canada will process this paperwork and send back a 'Positive Labour Market Opinion'. This will be forwarded to you. You will need to take it to the Canadian Immigration office nearest to where you live. This will finalise the immigration process which takes approximately two weeks.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada also requires you to undergo and pass a medical examination in order to come to Canada. To pass this examination, you must not have a condition that is a danger to public health and safety or would cause excessive demand on health or social services in Canada. Instructions on how to undergo the medical examination will normally be sent to you after you submit your application to the visa office.
