Once you have sent us your acceptance letter, application is made to the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons for temporary licensure.

Credentials Certification

For physicians seeking medical licensure/registration who have completed their medical education outside Canada, the College requires your credentials to be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates - International Credentials Services (ECFMG®-EICS).

You can download the application form by clicking here. Once you have completed the application and have the relevant documents, you can either:

  • Submit the package yourself and we will reimburse the application fee upon your arrival. This is preferable since it results in a faster processing time.
    OR
  • Send the package to Ms. Candy Ferris, Administrative Assistant, Leukemia/BMT Program of BC. We will pay the application fee and forward your application to the ECFMG®-EICS on your behalf.

Approximately one month later, the College will notify us that you have been granted temporary registration. You will receive a copy of this letter as it outlines the paperwork you will be required to produce upon your arrival in Canada.
