Fellowship Program Director

The Fellowship Program Director oversees the recruitment, training and education of the Leukemia/BMT fellows. In addition, he oversees the budget for these activities and provides twice yearly individual feedback to the fellows. He also meets with the fellows regularly to review training issues. Currently the Fellowship Program Director is Donna Forrest, MD, FRCPC.

Fellowship Program Administrator

The Fellowship Program Administrator is Ms. Candy Ferris. The Administrator performs the following functions:

  • Creates and places advertisements for recruiting fellows
  • Coordinates fellow applicant evaluations and travel for interviews.
  • Coordinates fellow relocation to Vancouver including visa and licensing issues. A brochure will also be provided to fellows to assist in their relocation process.
  • Maintains a database of fellows summarizing their application status, visa/licensing status, CV, letters of recommendation, faculty evaluations, abstracts, publications, grants, appointments and contact information following fellowship training.
  • Develops and maintains written feedback evaluations from the fellows describing the strengths and weaknesses of their training.
  • Maintains and distributes fellow schedules (clinical rotations, conferences, call)

Clinical Rotation Supervisors

In addition to supervising fellows for their clinical rotations and perform teaching on rounds, faculty will provide each fellow with verbal feedback regarding their strengths and weaknesses at the end of each rotation. Any extraordinary positive or negative comments should be emailed to the Fellowship Administrator and Program Director.
