Rituximab

Rituximab (rye-TUX-im-ab) is a drug that is used to treat some kinds of lymphoma. Rituximab is a clear liquid that is injected slowly into a vein.

Common Side Effects

  • Chills or fever and swelling of the tongue or throat are common during the first treatment.
  • Hives may occur. These usually occur during or 24 hours after the infusion.
  • Nausea may occur but most patients have little or no nausea.
  • Hair loss does not occur with rituximab.
